H1N1 Update

11-24-09

As of November 21st, there have been a total of 12,545 doses of H1N1 vaccine distributed by Two Rivers Public Health Department in our district and 9,577 doses or 76% have been given to people in the priority groups. There have been 164,084 doses of H1N1 vaccine administered in Nebraska. We want to thank all of you for all of your hard work in protecting the health of the people you care for!
We know that H1N1 influenza has added additional work to your already full schedules!

We continue to receive H1N1 vaccine and supplies and will continue to distribute these to our medical providers, based on population, as quickly as possible. The CDC priority groups targeted for the H1N1 vaccine at this time include:
  • Pregnant women
  • People who live with or care for children less than 6 months of age
  • Persons aged 6 months to 24 years of age
  • Healthcare and Emergency Services personnel
  • Persons aged 25-64 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza related complications
  • Nebraska is reporting regional influenza activity and the H1N1 illness continues to be similar to seasonal influenza with the majority of diagnosed patients having mild illness. There were no school closures reported for the week that ended 11-14-09.

Thank you again for all you do. Have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends! Go Big Red!
